Now this is what I call a decent pubow this is what I call a decent pub!” is what I imagine most visitors from England saying, with typical understatement, when they first enter The Spitfire Arms. The dark wood of the bar, bar furniture and wainscoting, the firebrick hue of the walls and the diffused lighting combine to create the feeling I associate with a traditional English pub.

The Spitfire’s décor is unique and focuses on two quintessentially British themes: World War II and soccer (or football, as the English insist on calling it). The pub has displays of memorabilia relating to the experience of fighter pilots, which makes The Spitfire Arms a special place for veterans to visit. Several have even contributed to the pub’s interesting collection of uniform medals and old photographs.
